4th of July
Please excuse the lateness in wishing you all a Happy 250th Anniversary and a Happy Fourth of July. Like most of you, I was preoccupied with all the celebration activities on television. I believe this year's Independence Day celebration sent a message around the world that the United States should never be underestimated.
The speeches by senior government officials, including the President, honoring our active-duty military and veterans for helping keep our nation free for 250 years, could not have been more inspiring.
As I watched the displays of air- and sea-launched drones, stealth aircraft, and state-of-the-art surface ships and submarines, I found myself reflecting on the significance of the Seabees. Times have changed, and so has the equipment, but what we accomplished in support of the Marines, Army, Air Force, and the Republic of Korea Marines truly made a difference.##
