United States Naval Mobile Construction Battalion 58 Association

Chairman's Letter 2025

Hello Fifty-Eighters, Happy Holidays

As we enter another holiday season it recalls the many holidays we have shared over the years. It has been a long time since we were commissioned in 1966. Through the years we have experienced many good times and yes a few bad times. As we celebrate the wrap up of 2025 let us never forget those that have gone before us. We must also always remember the many good times our Association has enjoyed. Although our Battalion numbers have declined over the years, we continue to have a strong MCB 58 Association.

Not only is our Association a group Vietnam veterans we are a family. As a few of our members have entered their Golden Years and your Association is standing by to lend a hand to any of you that are having trouble in your private life or with some bureaucratic agency. Never forget that your association is a group dedicated to insuring you are not alone.

Before I forget it, the 2026 Reunion in San Antonito in May is being planned so each of you have an enjoyable time. No matter if you require help in getting around or are good to go remember this is your reunion. Begin each day with a hearty breakfast on us. Please keep in mind your reunion committee has planned every event for you. Through the generosity of Chris and Tina Gallen who are hosting another Bison cookout. For those who may have missed the reunion in Kalispell you will not want to miss this. In addition to the generosity of Chris and Tina we will have another great old fashion fish fry donated and hosted and by Sun Belt Equipment rentals. Light food and drinks will be served at the welcome aboard party. Of course you don’t want to forget about are informative breakout sessions, root beer floats and a chance to win big at our bingo. Don’t forget you will have plenty time to kickup your heels during our karaoke event. Like always our Auction will be fun for all. You will an opportunity to nominate and possibly elect a member of the Association to serve on the Board of Directors. We need the support of the next generation. We have extended our Board participation to include children, grandchildren and wives to insure the continuation of our association. In fact we now have children and wives serving as members on the Board of Directors. We need your help as well as that of your children and grandchildren . Please think of our next generation to keep the memory of MCB 58 at the for front of Seabee Associations.

We will end our reunion on Saturday night with a great dinner. This to be a Mexican/American theme night with a real live Mariachi band.

Have a great Christmas, we hope to see you all in San Antonio in May.
